Resources for Parents

Children experiencing problems with inattention, impulsivity, and motor hyperactivity are typically diagnosed with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder. However, these symptoms are often present in other disorders as well. Differentiating between ADHD and anxiety or mood disorders can often be quite challenging, and misdiagnosis is more prevalent than one might think. The following articles are designed to help you better understand some of the differences between children with ADHD and those with other disorders and to give you a place to start when seeking treatment for your child. If the information presented in these articles seems to resonate with your child, and you would like further information, I am available for consultation by appointment or by phone at (845) 213-8761.
